Why some products are visible and others are not

A product moves through draft, review and published before a customer ever sees it — and some stop before the end. Here is what each stage means.

Products do not arrive on the storefront by being added to a spreadsheet. Each one is loaded as a draft, reviewed, and only then published — and a product that fails any part of that review stays where it is rather than appearing with a caveat attached.

A draft is a record that exists internally and is visible to nobody outside Novapure. In review, the description, the packaging details and the supplier documentation are checked against what we are willing to state publicly. Published means that review finished and the product is listed.

A fourth state matters more than it sounds: hold. A product is held when the supplier information behind it is incomplete — a strength, a pack format, or documentation we asked for and have not received. Held products are not published and are not priced. We would rather show a shorter catalog than list something we cannot describe accurately.

Publication is also per-country. A product is listed for the markets we are currently set up to ship to and price in, and not for others. Ordering from outside those markets will not surface the product, and that is the intended behaviour rather than a fault.

None of these states can be skipped by an import or a bulk edit. Publishing is a decision a person records, and it is logged with who made it and when. That log is the reason we can answer a question about why a specific product was listed on a specific date.
